Crazy week of sales

It's my second full week of work and sales are picking up fast. This week has just flown by and the deals just keep coming. Right now we are looking at being in the double digits for the week in sales which is just awesome.

The guys are still great to work with and the transition has been so smooth. I really think that everything will work out so well when we all get the process down 100%. So far it has been paying off nicely for all of us, customers included.

We just bought some pre-owned bikes at auction and we should have some near perfect trades coming in as well. I personally think that our used inventory is going to really be a key player in the next few months. We are buying bikes and really working on our variety.

We are working on some great promotions for the next few months and will be participating in a bike show in Hagerstwon on April 4th and 5th that should get us some great exposure.

Putting it all to work

So this coming week should be tons of fun. This week I go full time and we get to try to figure out how to put all the pieces of the puzzle together to maximize the situation. I can't wait. I think that out dealership has the greatest group of employees and it seems like everyone is willing to make it work.

Another great week

Things are rolling extra smooth here at the dealership. With help from all departments we are working toward that goal of following the "customer path" 100% which is just awesome. As a customer I would think that having a friendly face in each department would be a huge benefit. There is nothing like loving your salesperson but not knowing who to go to once the sale is done. From a sales point of view it is such a relief as well. When the customer doesn't have to call you all the time to set up service appts. or get parts ordered it gives you time to focus on so many other important things.

I spent most of my day yesterday with my HDFS rep talking products. Not too different from the car world, actually a little better. I totally understand the HDFS process and it should be an exciting relationship. In a few weeks he will be back in to polish up the menu and just do a little checking up.

My dealership is hosting the same class for sales that I attended the other week. That should be an exciting time. From what I understand the class will be held here in April. I can't wait for the guys I work with to have the same experience I had.

I am pretty confident that all the deals here can start rolling through the Finance office and we can get a proper process in place. I really don't think that any of the guys I work with are going to have any issues with "letting go of the reigns" and letting me handle all the financing issues. Maybe a little bit hesitant at first but I am pretty sure that they will see the benefit in the long run.

My next big adventure is finding out what all goes into becoming a certified insurance rep. That is a whole new animal to me but I can see the benefit to the customer and that is what I am here for. What makes customers happy make everyone money!

As a dealership we have a a few things coming up. The one that seems to be drawing the most interest is our Garage Party. The female only party was supposed to be held on February 11th but the high winds that we had knocked out all of the electric in the area so we had to reschedule. The Garage Party is going to be held on March 26th. A lot of women are so excited about the party. It is awesome to see such interest from the females in the area. I am glad in a way that is had to be changed because I was not going to be able to attend the original date. As a female rider myself I can understand the intimidation of being on a bike and overcoming that "man's world" way of thinking. A lot of the women we have attending recently went for permits and are signing up for the safety classes when they become available. I will be attending the safety class and getting my license in April.

Everyday I am more and more thankful to have been given the opportunity to be a part of the M&S and Harley-Davidson families. Every day I get more and more support and get to share the knowledge of the customers and my co-workers. I just cannot wait for all the exciting times in the future.

Awesome day

Today we held our annual Chili Cook-off in the dealership and the place was hopping all day long! Of course we has some of the normal people coming in and then there were a lot of new faces as well. We had 35 actual contestants and raised a ton of money for MDA. It is always so nice to see people come out to support a wonderful cause.

From a sales side the day just rocked as well. Real quality traffic and the perfect opp for me to use my new skills. All though I was concentrating mostly on obtaining financing for people I had a few phone calls that turned into sales appointments and actually got people in to the dealership and parked on a bike or two. I even found myself "qualifying" one customer to help him figure out which bike would best suit him. I shocked myself a little with some of my word tracks that I remembered. At the end of the day I sat back and processed everything that had happened and was pretty damn impressed and now I am even more excited to put these skills to work.

Watch out!

Back to basics

Just attended a three day sales training on getting back to the basics. That is exactly what we did too. We broke it all down and then put it all back together in the right order. I am pretty sure we all know how to sell but just like with anything else we tend to skip a step here and there. Next thing we know we have skipped a whole lot of steps and in most cases they happen to be the most important ones. Sometimes we need to just step back and think about it or in this case have someone showing us just how easy it really can be. We all get caught up in the emotion of every day life and overlook the important things sometimes. Take a step back, look at it from the other side now and then and remember when we just follow the simple steps needed getting to the end result is easy.

In our world every day is a new adventure. Hell every customer is a new adventure. Lets pull all the skills in place and see just how much we can overcome.
